The driver of a car that witnesses say was going over 100 mph is under arrest after he slammed into a truck on I-5 early Thursday, injuring his passengers and the driver of a bread truck. Two passengers in the Mercedes were injured, one of them critically. Both were transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The driver of the car was taken to Valley Medical Center.

The passengers in the vehicle have claims against the driver. The man in the bread truck has both a workers compensation claim and a claim against the driver of the Mercedes. Workers compensation benefits are typically much less than the compensation available through a personal injury claim for the same injuries.
