Last Friday afternoon, September 7, two bicyclists were hit by a dump truck near the intersection of Eastlake Avenue and Fuhrman Avenue East in Seattle. 19-year-old Bryce Lewis died on the scene, crushed under the front wheels of the dump truck. The other bicyclist, a friend of Lewis', was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The biking collision occurred on a popular biking route between downtown and the University District.

When medics arrived on the scene of the accident both bikes were pinned underneath the truck, but the cyclist pinned between the rear-wheels of the truck was alert and calling for help.

The accident is under investigation. The dump truck driver was badly shaken by the bicyclist fatality, witnesses say.
