Pardon me, Mr. Coluccio, I was reading several blogs and picked up the wrong name from an article posted near yours. Apologies.
Again, I'm glad you are addressing this issue.
-- TT

A comment on Farming Injuries - Part 1

Great topic, Mr. Eadie - I look forward to reading more.
Readers, if you ever meet a successful farmer you will have met an exceptional business person. A really good farmer is often not just an expert agronomist, but also part chemist, bookkeeper, human resources director, mechanic and carpenter - and given the physical demands of the job, something of an athlete.
And the combination of hard work, long days, fatigue and heavy machinery makes farming one of the most dangerous careers there is.

A comment on But They Fixed It After I Fell!

Thanks for making the inside of a trial more transparent Mike. The public wants to know why things happen the way they do in a trial. They don't get that from Judge Judy or from the Nancy Grace show where the real law is not explained. Rule 407 is the product of 200 years inpursuit of justice. Your article carefully explains how hard it is to be fair to both sides of an injury. I hope that you continue to educate the public: real law for real people.

A comment on QFC - Claims It's Kosher...But It's Not

As someone who worked in Kashrut for years, I think QFC, and any other manufacturer, has a right to put a K on its product. If they want to assert that it is kosher under someone's definition, it shouldn't be illegal.

And although I don't hold of this particular opinion, there are many Rabbis who declare that ALL gelatin is kosher because it has been so processed that it can no longer be considered an animal derivative.

A comment on QFC - Claims It's Kosher...But It's Not

Anybody who seriously keeps kosher is well aware that a 'K' on a product signifies nothing. Those who actually keep kosher rely on copyrighted symbols of specific supervision organizations that are deserving of our trust.

A comment on UIM Insurance - Here's Why You Need It

I have set up google alerts on UM/UIM information as I too feel it is something that most agents do not adequately inform their insureds about. In NC it is relatively cheap protection for you and your family. We have a large immigration population in our rural areas that tend to not carry auto insurance so it is more important than ever consumers know what UM/UIM benefits are.

A comment on Filing Suit: When is the “Right” Time to Pull the Trigger?

I am a 70 year old retired airline pilot who has just been diagnosed with COPD. I retired early in 1998 at age 58. Two and a half years later I had a coronary event that lead to a 5 way bypass surgery.
I have read that 25% of all airline pilots who flew during the years that smoking was allowed on airplanes have developed respiratory problems. The airline that I worked for allowed or at least did nothing about crew members smoking in the cockpit well into the mid 90's.
I already have SSA and VA disability, but wonder if there is a president that would hold the airline responsible for my present condition. The company used bankruptcy to abrogate our retirement contract and I lost 25% of my retirement in 2001 when the retirement fund was turned over to the PBGC. I would certainly like to get some of that money back.
